Do to poor attendance, regular monthly MugWump meetings have been discontinued for the time being. The meeting night seems to be a moving target for many members. I am willing to host meetings at my home anytime but regular monthly meetings have not been working out. Maybe we should try a bimonthly meeting on a weekend. What do you think? Suggestions and comments are welcome. Please post them

I just found a better backup program for your Mac. It is better than SuperDuper in my opinion because it is easier to use, works on both Tiger and Leopard, the demo version is not crippled in any way (in fact you don't ever have to pay for it if you don't want - it is donationware) and if you do want to pay for it, it is only $10. The battery in my aging Powerbook G4 is starting to tell me it needs to be replaced. I suggest at our next Mugwumps meeting we actually do back up our computers. Can we get the backup drives and do the proceedures at the meeting? Maybe we can list the computers to update and a certain person could purchase the backup drives for us to buy and then...we all go home safe!

Apropos of nothing, iCal informs me that that my Mac SE/30 just turned 18. This was a sweet "loaded" machine with an 80MB hard disk and 8MB of RAM. I got it at the developer price, a deeply discounted $3661.66! (This model had been on the market since January 1989.)Today is also MacOS X 10.2 Jaguar's 5th birthday. Zzzzz!

Llama Lady recently asked me for my recommendation for a Mac Sudoku game. There are numerous choices (just do a search at MacUpdate.com or VersionTracker.com if you don't believe me) and I've only tried a few.I am quite fond of the Sudoku Dashboard Widget found at http://www.briandeboer.com/ . It has the features I like and several levels of difficulty. Give it a look.
